The UK’s biggest-selling girl group of the 21st century, Girls Aloud, are to reunite for a special concert not only in memory of band member Sarah Harding who died of breast cancer at 39 last year, but also to raise money for vital medical equipment that can diagnose cancer earlier.

Speaking to OK Magazine, Nadine Coyle said: “We’re planning a night for an event to raise money in honour of Sarah, she’s very much in the forefront of our minds. We want to raise money for a piece of medical equipment that helps diagnose cancer earlier so people can be treated. We definitely want to do something to help others.”

Sarah died in September 2021 just 13 months after announcing that she had breast cancer. Coyle said that Harding’s death “still affects us deeply – to think about everything that she went through”. Despite reports of feuding (isn’t there ALWAYS that narrative with a girl band) the girls were firm friends and sisters til the end. Harding was a powerhouse performer and personality, she released her autobiography Hear Me Out in March last year.
