Harry Styles drops out of Nosferatu remake and announces new album
Harry Styles is a busy boy at the moment and it looks this year could well be a spectacular one for the singer turned actor. What he WON’T be in however is a proposed remake of spooky classic, Nosferatu.
We already know Styles will be starring in his first major movie role as a bisexual copper opposite Emma Corrin in My Policeman but then there’s also Don’t Worry Darling with Florence Pugh. A mini-trailer for the latter dropped last year and is described as ‘a psychological thriller set in an isolated 1950s community in the Californian desert’.
As for Nosferatu, Styles had been attached to the project alongside the very hot right now Anya Taylor-Joy. He has had to pulled out, however, due to scheduling difficulties. We’d have loved to have seen him but it is one of those movies that would be a huge risk to remake due to its classic status.
Next up is Don’t Worry Darling, director Olivia Wilde has this to say about Harry: “The industry has raised them to believe it lessens their power (i.e. financial value) to accept these roles, which is one of the reasons it’s so hard to get financing for movies focusing on female stories… Enter: @harrystyles, our ‘Jack’. Not only did he relish the opportunity to allow for the brilliant @florencepugh to hold center stage as our ‘Alice’, but he infused every scene with a nuanced sense of humanity.” She must have liked him a they’ve been dating ever since!
As if that wasn’t enough, Harry also announced that his new album will be entitled Harry’s House and the first single is called As It Was which you’ll be able to hear on April 1! It’s the Year of Styles!
