Pete Buttigieg shaded on first day at the White House
Poor Pete Buttigieg, his triumph at being the first LGBTQ+ person confirmed by the senate to hold a cabinet position was slightly marred today by another political row erupting on Twitter and in the right win media.
As media outlets all over the world fell over themselves to congratulate ex-presidential candidate and all round nice guy ‘mayor Pete’ on this historic appointment, the right wing media were quick to point out a slight thorn in the side of everyone’s favourite gay politician – someone else technically got there first by a matter of months.
Right wing Richard Grenell was sworn in by twice impeached former president Donald Trump as Acting Director Of National Intelligence from Feb to May 2020. He wasn’t actually confirmed by the Senate which is how the media is reporting it, circumventing Grenell. Clearly not one to let it go without throwing a little shade on Pete’s big day, Grenell tweeted the following:
