Anti-trans Governor Noem called out for playing dumb on LGBTQ+ depression stats
Blatantly transphobic Governor of South Dakota Kristi Noem has come under fire from the awesome Deputy White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre who herself is the first gay woman to hold that position.
Kristi Noem is known for being NO friend to LGBTQ+ community with her horrific political posturing trying to appeal to the Trump base in her state by signing an exclusionary bill that bars transgender girls and women from playing on women’s sports teams whilst also showing off this fact with anti-trans adverts that she was just SO proud of that she even paid for them to go national.
Cut to this week when confronted with a new report that said nearly 90 per cent of the state’s LGBTQ+ community had a high depression rate, she proclaimed: “I don’t know. That makes me sad, and we should figure it out.”
Well no shit Kristi! Deputy White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was having NONE of it and tweeted: “Here’s a start for you Governor, 1. Don’t advance policies that attack trans youth, 2. Don’t fund ads attacking LGBT youth, 3. support @POTUS’ agenda to enhance support for youth mental health needs, with funding made available through the American Rescue Plan.” Ouch.
Not one to shy away from a fight and missing the point as always, Noem responded: “We believe in fairness in SD and are ranked #1 in mental health by US News. Care to comment on the numerous failures of your boss @JoeBiden? Inflation. Constant foreign policy failures. Stagnant job market. Fauci fatigue. Gas prices. Care to take some lessons from our leadership?”
We are ALL IN for this sort of political discourse. Calling out blatant lying hypocrites like Noem is fair game and the fact that it comes from the White House itself in the shape of kween Karine lets us know that this is the sort of leadership America needs right now and may the gods help us if that changes in 2024.
Here’s a start for you, Governor. 1. Don’t advance policies that attack trans youth, 2. Don’t fund ads attacking LGBT youth, 3. support @POTUS’ agenda to enhance support for youth mental health needs, with funding made available through the American Rescue Plan. https://t.co/FQLV0pYIsk— Karine Jean-Pierre (@KJP46) February 18, 2022
