Leave Brian Alone! Legendary choreographer Friedman defends work on ‘Toxic’

Over the weekend, one of pop’s most prolific choreographers Brian Friedman, 43, has come out in defence of what he describes as ‘crazy fans’ who are disputing his work on the seminal music video for Britney Spears’ ‘Toxic’.

On his Facebook page, Brian writes a lengthy status update detailing how he came up with the treatment for the video, the people involved in the filming and how Britney herself envisaged the ‘crystal outfit’ concept which makes up part of the stunning visuals.

As for the rest of the video, it’s clear that it was Brian’s vision but this hasn’t stopped fans asking questions on Twitter. There are age old clips of Britney talking about the creative process which fans have latched onto and through the wonders of social media, their comments have reared their ugly heads again.

Whether Brian’s new information will finally put to bed who came up with the concept is anybody’s guess but for now, the #BritneyArmy seem to want answers. And Brian is happy to provide them.

2020 saw the mainstream rise of the #FreeBritney campaign (originally started in 2009) on social media. As her and her family went through the courts, her dedicated fan-base committed to help garner White House support to end her conservatorship, amidst fears she was reaching out for help via her social channels.

The main argument, rather reasonably, being that if she’s fit to work, tour, and earn money, then she should be considered at capacity to have more control over it.
