Lisa Kudrow and Rueby Wood attend premiere for Better Nate Than Ever and we LIVE
Some kids just get it y’know and clearly 15-year-old Rueby Wood is one of those kids. The star of Disney+’s Better Nate Than Ever was clearly feeling his oats at his big premiere in a killer outfit Gaga would be proud of, next to co-star Lisa Kudrow.
Disney has had to do a bit of back-pedalling in the last few weeks as being the largest employer in Florida, it had let down its LGBTQ+ staff and fans across the world by dragging its feet in condemning the state’s horrendous ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bill. It sadly passed last week thanks to Gov Ron DeSantis’s continued attack on queer kids in order to position himself for a run at President in 2024. What a guy!
The movie, about an unpopular 13 years old Nate Foster who dreams of being in a Broadway show, is based on the book of the same name by Tim Federle (who created the queer-inclusive Disney+ series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series). It also stars out gay actor Joshua Bassett and Arla Brooks as his BFF Libby.
Kudrow spoke about her co-stars on the red carpet, sounding more Phoebe than ever: “Rueby and Aria. They blew me away. They were so great. They were so nice. We got to like, hangout. Not out. But, in between, we all were in the same space, in the same room, and it was great. I loved talking to them a lot. They always knew their lines. And if they didn’t, it was OK, and who cares, I never know my lines. So, that’s OK.”
The movie starts streaming on Disney+ on April 1.
