The movie industry is slowly cranking back into gear with productions requiring everyone to follow new guidelines, finding ways to circumvent strict Covid-19 restrictions or just upping sticks and filming in a country where the pandemic isn’t so prevalent.

Everyone thought that after the original trilogy, that was it for the Matrix series but in this age of remakes, reboots and sequels, we were all gagged when a fourquel was announced back in 2019. Since then it’s been all systems (friendly or otherwise) go and the film is due out this December.

It looks like we might have a title for as well. Seeing as main characters Carrie-Anne Moss and Keanu Reeves are reprising their roles as Trinity and Neo respectively after dying at the end of the Revolutions, it would make sense that the leaked title was reportedly Resurrections.

How do we know this? Well an unsuspecting make up artist who worked on the film accidentally put it on her social media only to swiftly take it down. Too late hun! The fact that it’s made global news is proof that the market is still there for a new movie so even though Warners have come out and said that the movie is as yet entitled, it’s good news for them.

Writer/director Alan Wachowski will be flying solo this time after directing the previous three with her sibling Lilly Wachowski, both of whom are trans. Indeed it was mooted that the first trilogy was a trans allegory seeing as it was to do with being one’s true self.

Alongside returning Reeves and Moss are new cast editions Priyanka Chopra and Neil Patrick Harris who we last saw in episode one of It’s A Sin. According to reports Wachowski has updated the aesthetic for the new movie seeing as technology has of course moved on since the original over 20 years ago.
