The ‘Don’t Say Gay’ bills that have appeared in various forms across the USA have already inspired Ariana Grande to create a fund to look after vulnerable queer kids. Well, now Camila Cabello has teamed up with Equality Florida and Lambda Legal to mount a challenge to the original Florida law itself.

We have written extensively about the state of politics in the US at the moment and it just seems to be getting worse, with now even Row v. Wade hanging in the balance which would strike a very chilling note across the nation if it is overturned. Those with huge platforms, however, are not taking it lying down and are fighting back

Camila Cabello performed at the launch event last night along with RuPaul’s Drag Race legend Valentina and transgender singer Shea Diamond. Cabello said: “As someone who grew up and still lives in Florida, I am appalled that my home state is putting the health and lives of young Floridians at risk by passing this law and inviting discrimination into our schools. We must protect every student and respect every family. I am so grateful to all of our founding partners who are standing in solidarity with LGBTQ youth and families and raising money for the Protect All Kids Fund to help Lambda Legal and Equality Florida stop this hateful law.”

The Protect Our Kids Fund (yes we know Camila said ‘All’ kids in her statement above) aims to raise $500k in order to fight the law in the courts. You can donate HERE
