As Paramount+ launches in the UK, they have announced that one of their flagship shows Queen of the Universe is to welcome Spice Girl Mel B as judge, replacing Leona Lewis.

You’d be forgiven for thinking this was an offshoot of RuPaul’s Drag Race and it kinda is as it features many of the familiar faces featured across the franchise. It’s made in conjunction with World of Wonder which produces all of RuPaul’s shows. The difference here is that it gathers singers from all over the world who just happen to be drag queens as well.

Queen of the Universe Season 2 features returning judges Michelle Visage (ring any bells?), Grammy nominee Vanessa Williams and Drag Race All Stars winner Trixie Mattel. Graham Norton is also back as host who also happens to be one of the permanent judges on RuPaul Drag Race UK.

As well as being a Spice Girl, Mel B is also a television host and judge with well documented stints on America’s Got Talent, The X Factor UK, Lip Sync Battle UK and Dancing With the Stars Australia. PHEW!

Queen of the Universe Season 2 was announced in February but has no official release date set yet. Check out some highlights from Season 1 below! Just try not to get ‘groomed’ when you see these drag queens!
