Prime Video’s The Boys gets release date and drops a (teeny tiny) teaser
The Boys season 3 premier date confirmed by Prime Video.
Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys will be back on screen this summer for its third season and we now have a drop date and an (almost unbelievably brief) a first glimpse.
Season 3 of the Emmy-nominated superhero series will launch with its first three episodes on Friday, June 3. Just like they did with Season 2, Prime will then roll out the remaining Season 3 episodes weekly, rather in one go as they initially did with season 1.
The teaser trailer (below) shows Antony Starr’s Homelander looking irritated and like he’s about to eviscerate a crowd of people while standing and posing for photos.
Of course, in terms of queer storylines (us swooning over Chase Crawford aside), it’s all eyes on Queen Maeve, played by House of Cards star Dominique McElligott.

Season 2 of The Boys delved further into the backstory behind Maeve’s relationship with Elena, her on/off girlfriend and ‘kryptonite’, played by Nicola Correia-Damude.
In episode 4, Homelander outs Maeve to the general public on a talk show when asked why his team aren’t more diverse.
He calls Maeve a “strong, proud lesbian with a beautiful girlfriend, Elena”.
Tackling the issue of bi-erasure and a lack of LGBTQ+ superheroes in Hollywood, in a later scene, Elena says that Maeve is bisexual, but the corporation behind The Seven tells them that “lesbian is an easier sell” and that it’s “more cut and dry” for the general public.
We cannot WAIT to see what Season 3 has in store.
If you didn’t manage to catch seasons 1 and 2 of The Boys, they’re both available to stream on Prime Video now. We’ll pop the trailers below:
