Postmates ‘bottom friendly’ Pride menu gets some mixed responses
It’s Pride month! And this year companies seem to be getting a bit more creative than just slapping a rainbow sticker on their logo.
US food delivery company Postmates have partnered with sexual health and wellness expert Dr. Evan Goldstein to develop the menu which is designed to keep things moving downstairs, let’s say. Never mind not sugar coating the issue, we just don’t want ‘it’ to be shit coated. Riiiight?
Comedian Rob Anderson narrates the ad which includes choice phrases like: “What are you eating this pride? Well, if you’re a top, it seems like you can eat whatever you want. But if you’re a bottom, you’re expected to starve?”
Take look at the ad here:
You shouldn’t miss a good meal for a good time. That’s why this Pride, we’ve teamed up with @DrEvanGoldstein and @smartthrob to create the world’s first Bottom-Friendly Menu (yup, it’s real). #EatWithPride pic.twitter.com/03Fm8YJlAP

Well THIS bottom never shies away from the spiciest of foods and sure, things take a little longer to sort out pre-sex but mama likes her vindaloos and no top is gonna tell me what I can and cannot eat! (Wait..come back!)
The ad suggests bottoms stay away from food like whole grains, wheat bran, cauliflower and potatoes as they can make ‘a mess of your evening’ but if you stick to white rice, citrus, peas, fish (and probably ice cubes) which are more easily digested, you are more likely to have a smoother ride.
The internet (of COURSE) had plenty to say on the matter with some loving the concept and some less so:
Honestly, this is the level of Pride other corps should strive for. If you’re not literally helping us have sex, can you really call yourself an ally?

I’m sorry I just can’t get over companies like @Postmates straight up mocking the LGBTQ community and reducing us to nothing but male hedonists. This is the most cursed pride month I’ve been alive for tbh

All we know is that we are here for big corporations thinking outside the box and actually getting queer people involved in the marketing decisions. Of course the main driving force is to capture that all important pink pound but inclusivity, LGBTQ+ charities and representation are all making more of an appearance as companies realise they need to do better than just temporarily altering their logo.
